Chris Drake, Orthotist
Chris is Consultant Orthotist and Managing Director of The London Orthotic Consultancy (LOC) a private orthotic clinic. Chris qualified as an orthotist in 1983 and after originally working in the private sector he took up the post of Principal Orthotist at Queen Mary’s Hospital, London where he worked for over 14 years developing the local orthotic department, before leaving the NHS in 2005 to form LOC with 3 other orthotists. Paul Harradine, Podiatrist
Paul Harradine is a clinical podiatrist and director of The Podiatry Centre Ltd and The Foot Orthotics Laboratory Ltd, with clinics around Hampshire and Surrey. Since obtaining his BSc (Hons) Podiatry from Northampton School of Podiatry in 1994 Paul has gained an MSc and CertEd working in both NHS clinical specialist posts and educational settings before becoming a full time private practitioner in 2003.
Paul lectures on the post graduate circuit and has published papers in podiatric, physiotherapy and orthopaedic texts on first ray function, plantar pressure analysis technology, taping, outcome studies, orthoses production and foot function theory amalgamation. His current areas of interest continue to be variations in foot orthoses production and the amalgamation of differing foot theory utilising an underpinning unified perspective.
Lee Herrington, Physiotherapist
Dr Lee Herrington is a Chartered Physiotherapist. In 1996, was awarded an MSc in Sports Injury and Therapy from Manchester Metropolitan University and PhD from the University of Salford in 2007 for research into anterior knee pain. Lee is Senior lecturer in sports rehabilitation at the University of Salford. He also works in a consultative capacity for a number of professional football clubs and individual elite level athletes from a multitude of sports including athletics, swimming, triathlon, boxing and martial arts, alongside work with British Swimming and the English Institute of Sport. Formerly working with Great Britain Women’s Basketball, Wigan Warriors and Great Britain Rugby League sides.
Andy Horwood, Musculoskeletal Podiatrist
Andy is an Independent Musculoskeletal Podiatrist; having served in the NHS and Nuffield Hospitals in general practice, paediatrics, biomechanics and podiatric surgery previously. He obtained his Primary Fellowship with the Podiatry Association in 1996. Andy helped develop the MSc in Clinical Podiatric Biomechanics for Staffordshire University and remains a Part Time lecturer & Visiting Fellow at Staffordshire University. Since 1999 he has been a product designer at Healthystep (Sensograph) Ltd.
Andy has a special interest in evolutionary biology and is a member of the Society for the Study of Human Biology and the Footwear Biomechanics Group. He is also an angling writer having a contribution in a book; ”The Biggest Fish of All”.
Prof Bill Ribbans PhD, FRCSOrth, FFSEM(UK)
Bill Ribbans is an Orthopaedic Surgeon in Northampton with a personal chair in Sports Medicine at the University of Northampton.
He is Medical Director of the Moulton College Sports Rehabilitation Centre
His principal areas of surgical expertise are in the foot, ankle and knee. He has been involved in elite sport on a medical level since 1981.
He acts as Honorary Orthopaedic Surgeon for a number of professional sports organisation and national sports. He has been involved with the English National Ballet since 1991.
Bill has over 130 publications to his name and his active research programme is principally involved in work on the genetics of tendon and ligament disorders and in the ethics of sports medicine.
Maria Mousley BSc, MSc, MChs.
Maria Mousley, is consultant podiatrist, diabetes and tissue viability, Northamptonshire PCTMaria Mousley qualified from Birmingham School in 1991. Her special interest is early identification of the foot at risk with appropriate referral pathways, and tissue viability. Maria has provided education on these and other topics to GPs, nursing and podiatry colleagues. She has lectured at University of Hertford and Nene University on MSc courses.

Dr Louise Warburton
Dr Warburton is a GP and GPwSI in Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Medicine in Telford. She started out as a clinical assistant in Rheumatology 18years ago and has recently obtained the Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine and started working in an interface clinic in Telford, seeing referrals from local GPs. She is President-Elect of the Primary Care Rheumatology Society and currently the Medical Editor for Hands On for the Arthritis Research Campaign. She was involved in drawing up the NICE Guidelines in the Management of Rheumatoid Arthritis, which were released in 2009.
Dr Warburton is also an author, writing for GP magazines and Editing a textbook in Musculoskeltal Medicine for the Royal College of GPs.
Ms Heidi Siddle
Heidi Siddle is an Arthritis Research Campaign AHP Research Fellow in the Section of Musculoskeletal Disease at the University of Leeds, and the Specialist Rheumatology Podiatrist in the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Heidi has established a dedicated rheumatology foot health service which integrates clinical practice and research. Heidi has developed skills in diagnostic ultrasound imaging techniques and MRI which she is utilising to study the painful forefoot in patients with rheumatoid arthritis for her PhD. Heidi is also co-author of the book “The Foot & Ankle in Rheumatoid Arthritis”.
Dr Stephen Longworth
Dr Longworth has been a full time GP in Leicester for 24 years and also works as a Hospital Practitioner in the Orthopaedic Spine Clinic at Leicester General Hospital. He was the first GPSI in Musculoskeletal Medicine in Leicester. He is a Past President of the Primary Care Rheumatology Society, a tutor and examiner for the Diploma in Primary Care Rheumatology at the University of Bath and has a Masters Degree in Sport and Exercise Medicine. He is co-author of a book on joint and soft tissue injection techniques.
Mr Paul Partington
Mr Paul Partington graduated from University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1987, and completed his basic and higher surgical training in the North East of England and Canada. He has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Northumbria since 1998. He has a keen interest in teaching and training and has been Training Programme Director for Trauma and Orthopaedics in the Northern Deanery for the last four years. Member of the Specialist Advisory Committee for Trauma and Orthopaedics training. He is also the GP liaison representative for Trauma and Orthopaedics in the trust, including service development, referral triage and work on referral feedback. His clinical and research interests are adult hip and knee surgery, arthroplasty and arthroscopy, including hip arthroscopy.
Dr Anthony Redmond,
Arthritis Research Campaign Senior Lecturer, Leeds Institute for Molecular Medicine and Chair, Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance (ARMA).
Dr Redmond has been active in the development of evidence-based
standards, care pathways and integration of foot health services in
primary and secondary care, contributing to NICE appraisals on OA and
RA. He was recently the lead for the Podiatry Rheumatic Care
Association's national project to set standards of care for people with foot
problems associated with musculoskeletal diseases.
He is co-author of the text ‘The Foot and Ankle in Rheumatoid Arthritis’
and has contributed chapters to several well known texts such as Neale's
Disorders of the Foot; and Assessment and Diagnosis of the Lower limb.
Anthony has published more than 30 journal papers in the fields of
rheumatology, biomechanics and podiatry.
Dr Martyn B Speight
Musculoskeletal & Sports Physician, Registered Osteopath
Dr Speight has been a full-time practitioner of MSK/Sports med for the last 11 yrs. Prior to this he worked in all areas of the NHS dealing with MSK problems (Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, GP and A & E medicine) before deciding to specialise. His main stimulus for his career was his frustrating experience as an NHS patient, when being treated for fell running/cross country injuries! He has a very eclectic/holistic approach to msk problems, drawing on many different modalities/management strategies. He works in his own private practice in Otley, West Yorks, as well as the BUPA wellness clinic in Leeds. He has a very keen interest in the development of MSK/SEM as speciality subjects, and as such has regular commitments to BIMM’s/BASEM’s teaching programmes. He is a faculty member of the London College of Osteopathic Medicine. His main areas of interest are lower limb problems and lumbar pelvic/radicular pain problems. His past experience with the elite sports person has been in tennis players, whilst at present he has regular involvement with both Super league and Guinness premiership rugby players. He lives in the Yorkshire dales and continues to compete on the fells and complements this with road cycling.
Jai Saxelby
is a Clinical lead Podiatrist specialising in Musculoskeletal Podiatry/Biomechanics. He graduated in 1990 from Salford University and has worked for Sheffield SW-PCT Services ever since. His special research interest is the diagnosis and management of Plantar Heel Pain on which he has published several original research papers.
Jai has been involved with the Podiatric Biomechanics Group since its inception in 1996 and has been heavily involved in the development of the Msc in Podiatric Biomechanics at the University of Staffordshire at which he is now an Honorary Fellow.
