Flexible flat foot is a much mis-understood condition. We will look at the types of flat foot deformity, classification and management with subtalar arthroereisis

By the end of the session the audience will:

• Have an understanding of different types of flat foot
• Appreciate how flexible flat foot impacts on physical apacity
• Be introduced to the concept of subtalar joint arthroesis

13.30 Diabetic foot complications

Treatments of diabetic foot ulceration, what to do if you have an ulcer in clinic through to surgical treatments.

By the end of the session the audience will be able to :

• Recognise how “knowing what you don’t know” can improve your practice

Clinical diagnosis is based on pattern recognition but can sometimes let us down. Through a series of case studies we will explore the importance of taking a step back and reviewing our diagnosis and clinical management plans

By the end of the session the audience will:

• Recognise the importance of clinical management planning
• Have a greater awareness of the role of clinical investigations in reaching a diagnosis
• Know when to refer cases on for a second opinion
